Reflect the past year with challenging climbs and rejuvenating reprieves. Let the music and your rider’s reflections be the star of this ride.
Set the stage by asking riders to imagine their past year as one of those rides where you get in a little train and go through a series of scenes that tell a story (e.g. Disney’s It’s a Small World).
Let collective experiences from last March until now, e.g. disinfecting grocery bags through the rollout of vaccines, create connectivity of shared experiences.
A few coaching tips:
1) Toward the end of Married in Vegas, share a memory or two that reflects how serious things began to get that made us realize that our daily lives were changing, then stay quiet during Sia’s California Dreaming – one of the best covers I’ve ever heard.
2) Stay quiet during the clapping at the end of Rain Rain (last song). Then say your closing – congratulations, you/we made it – whatever feels right to you.
3) Ride quietly for at least three minutes of the cool down song Love of Strings. Let people feel the power of the ride they just did.
Use your words, make it your own and create a special ride for you and your riders!
