High Heart Rate Doesn’t Equal a Great Workout!

This is one of our favorite videos! Not only was it fun to make, but we suspect it’s a topic near and dear to all of us: tackling the belief that “My heart rate is high – I must be getting an awesome work out!” How many times do we see riders with low resistance, high cadence and less than optimal form, sweating up a storm and believing they nailed it? We address how to change the goal from just “getting your heart rate up!” to riding with enough resistance, with good form and technique at the lowest heart rate. In other words, coaching riders to ride smart: highest power output while expending the least amount of effort.
