Laps & Ladders

Your cycle room becomes a velodrome for this ride! Paint the picture for your riders and count down the laps. Challenge them to imagine track cycling – laps and speed. They’ll find and hold tempo (below threshold “Zone 3”) for 1:00 “laps”, then lighten resistance, increase RPM, hold for :30 then increase RPM at :30 increments. Rider’s choice of intensity and speed for 2:00 after each laps and ladder round.

There are a host of options to modify/reuse this ride. If you’re not familiar with track cycling, just do a quick Google search and you will see all the variations. Let your imagination go from there – races, personal best challenges, and adding sprints to name a few.
